Hotline's professionally trained volunteers -- known as listeners -- are
available to help callers every day of the week. They offer counseling,
information and referrals to community services. They are
understanding, non-critical and empathetic. They know how to listen.
They know how to help. And they know who else can offer assistance.

Hotline listeners work in cooperation with local law enforcement,
social service agencies and medical institutions to help callers resolve
their problems. Hotline's computer database contains thousands of
community agencies and resources that can assist callers with
virtually any concern. This database is continually updated so all
referrals are accurate and appropriate. It is the caller's responsibility to
seek help from the community resource; however Hotline's listeners
do assist in special cases.
